Tony joined Hannan & Seddon in 1985 and became a partner in 1989.Tony was born in Takaka and raised in Christchurch.  He is married to Allie and has two children Janna and Nic.

Tony has been with Hannan & Seddon since he graduated from University in 1985. Prior to studying law, Tony was a Primary School Teacher and a commercial fisherman working off Fiordland and the West Coast.

Outside of work Tony enjoys outdoors pursuits such as tramping, ski-ing, cycling.  He also keenly follows rugby and is an avid supporter of Marist Rugby in Greymouth.  Tony is also a member of the local Rotary Club, a Trustee for both the Life Education Trust and the West Coast Community Trust.

Colin joined Hannan & Seddon in 1988 and became a partner in 1992

Colin was bought up in South Westland and had various jobs before deciding to become a solicitor.  Colin is married to Jen, they have two children Rebecca and Callum

Outside of work Colin enjoys outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing.  Colin is very active in the Community being Chairman of the West Coast Rugby Football Union, the Paroa Taramakau Coastal Area Trust, the Pike River Families Group Committee and the Pike River 29 Legacy Trust.  Colin is also Deputy Chairman of Development West Coast.

Charlotte joined Hannan & Seddon in January 2017. Prior to joining Hannan and Seddon, she practiced law in Christchurch for three and a half years before travelling and working in Canada in 2016.

Charlotte was raised on the West Coast before attending University in Dunedin. Charlotte graduated from Otago University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2012.

Outside of work Charlotte enjoys travelling, running marathons and reading.

David has been practicing law in Greymouth for 45 years, first as a partner in the firm of Guinness & Kitchingham and then for 35 years as a partner in Carruthers & Wetherall. This came to an end in June 2018 when the offices of Carruthers & Wetherall were severely damaged by fire and the decision was made to amalgamate the practice with Hannan & Seddon.

David has practiced as a general practitioner throughout his career specializing in property and conveyancing. He served a term as President of the Westland District Law Society and for about 10 years was a Tenancy Adjudicator dealing with tenancy disputes on the Westcoast. For 8 years he served as a director of Law Alliance NZ. He is a director of a commercial property investment company in Christchurch.

David and his wife Fiona have lived in Hokitika for the last 12 years. He was elected as a Westland District Councillor in 2016. Fiona is a professional artist who exhibits her work in Hokitika.

His interests outside of the law include travel, hiking and painting with Fiona.

Peter undertook his legal studies at Canterbury University and moved to Greymouth shortly after completing his degree in 1980.

Peter formed the legal practice of Carruthers and Wetherall with David Carruthers in Greymouth in 1984 and was for 34 years a partner in that firm. When the premises of the partnership were severely damaged in a fire in June 2018, the partners decided to amalgamate their practice with the firm of Hannan and Seddon with whom they had had a long association.

Peter has engaged in a wide number of areas of legal practice but has more recently centred his practice on all areas of property conveyancing, wills and Estates and Family Law. A particular focus of Peter’s practice has always been Family Law- including issues surrounding the welfare of children such as day to day care and relationship property issues. Peter is regularly appointed by the Court to represent children in Court proceedings and is also appointed to represent people with disabilities.

Peter has been married to Margaret for 34 years and is actively involved in the local Church community. Peter’s other outside interests include a passion for art history and keeping up with his grandchildren.

Leanne has worked for Hannan & Seddon for 15 years. Leanne was born and raised in Greymouth and has recently moved to the Grey Valley with her partner Peter. Leanne has two children – Keagan and Sarah.

Leanne enjoys cycling, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
